India's test opener Murali Vijay has been ruled out of the second Test against the West Indies at the Sabina Park here.Vijay was hit on his thumb in the opening match in Antigua while fielding on short leg.

The 32-year old did not take the field in West Indies'two innings last week after an injury on the first day of theAntigua Test.  Vijay, who has scored 2637 runs from 38 Tests, batted abit in the nets on Wednesday but skipped the optional practicesession on Thursday.

This gives a chance to Bangalore batsman Lokesh Rahul, whoscored half centuries in both the warm-up matches, to play hisfirst Test at the Caribbean.

Murali Vijay
