The India Vs Bangladesh game in Rajkot is under threat from rain due to the presence of Cyclone Maha in the Arabian Sea.

New Delhi:

Bangladesh have started their tour to India on a bright note by winning the Delhi Twenty20 International by seven wickets. This was Bangladesh's first win in Twenty20 Internationals against India and it came after eight attempts. The action now shifts to the second match at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in Rajkot with Bangladesh having a great chance to win the series. However, heading into the second Twenty20 International, there is a chance of weather playing spoilsport due to the presence of Cyclone Maha in the Arabian Sea.

According to the latest meteorological report, Cyclone Maha is "very likely" to weaken into a depression by Thursday evening. In a bulletin issued by the IMD, it said, "Cyclone Maha is very likely to move east-northeastwards, weaken into a deep depression over the northeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea during next 12 hours. It is very likely to skirt Saurashtra coast and lie centred about 40 kilometers south of Diu around noon of 7th November as a deep depression. Continuing to move east-northeastwards, it is very likely to weaken further into a depression by tomorrow evening," the IMD said.

However, the latest visuals of Rajkot show that it is sunny. However, Rajkot witnessed very heavy rain accompanied by strong winds yesterday night after the end of the final practice session. The current weather in Rajkot is fine about a couple of hours ago but towards the evening, it has become cloudy. If the storm hits by the evening time, chances of the game getting abandoned or having a curtailed match is likely. The forecast is for a cloudy spell with chances of rain later in the evening.

India would be looking to come back on level terms and deny Bangladesh the chance of winning the series. India last lost a Twenty20 International series earlier in the year when Australia won the two-match series 2-0. Bangladesh will be determined to inflict a first-ever series loss on India in this format.
