Jayant Yadav continued his good showing with the willow as he notched up his maiden century in Test cricket. In reaching the three figure mark, he overtook former Indian wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer’s record(90) for the highest score by an Indian batsman at number nine position.
Jayant Yadav was handed test cap by noted all-rounder Ravi Shastri in the Vishakhapatnam test against England. The debut came at the expense of experienced leggie Amit Mishra.
Though he was inducted into the team as an off-spinner but he also showed his skills with the bat, digging in against some talented England spinners and fast bowlers who targeted him with the short ball.
