India beat West Indies by a big margin of 318 runs in the first Test at New Ground in Antigua on Sunday.

Chasing 429 to win, West Indies were all out for just 100 runs as Jasprit Bumrah dismantled the hosts with a five-wicket haul. Earlier, Ajinkya Rahane found his first century in two years while Hanuma Vihari missed out on his maiden Test ton by just seven runs for India in the second innings.

The win made Virat Kohli the most successful Indian skipper in terms of overseas victories. Kohli overtook over former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly for the number one spot with 12 test victories in matches outside India under his belt now. 

The result also made Virat Kohli the joint-most succesful captain for India in Test cricket. He has now led India to 27 Test match wins- the same as MS Dhoni. 

It was India's biggest overseas Test win in terns of runs. Overall, this is India's fourth biggest victory. Four of the five biggest Test wins for India in terms of runs have come under Kohli's captaincy.

The West Indies' total of 100 in the fourth innings is their lowest against India in Tests. The previous lowest was 103 in Kingston in 2006. West Indies were 50 for 9 before their last wicket piled up quick 50 runs.

The win also put India on the top of ICC World Test Championship table for now with 60 points from one Test match. India will look to collect another 60 points when the meet West Indies in the second and final Test of the series in Jamaica starting Sunday.
