India and West Indies are all set to clash in the second One Day International at Port of Spain in India’s tour of the Caribbean. If the weather predictions are anything to go by, Sunday's game too could end as a damp squib with thunderstorms forecast for the morning and afternoon, with an 80 percent chance of showers.
India received a good batting experience in the first game as both openers Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane hit stroke-filled half-centuries. Indian skipper Virat Kohli too showed good form during his short stay at the crease. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav made his ODI debut in the game but remained confined to the dressing room as persistent showers ruined play.

On this day in 1983, India had won their first World Cup as Kapil Dev's side conquered the mighty West Indies. The current Indian team will be aspiring to play a clinical game on Sunday to script a resounding victory over the Windies.

India may provide an opportunity to flamboyant left-hander Rishabh Pant with the 2019 World Cup in mind. Many in the cricketing circles see the young pinch hitter as the perfect replacement to former Indian captain MS Dhoni.
For Windies, the bid to keep their hopes alive for a direct qualification for the 2019 World Cup took a beating with the wash-out. They are still in with a chance, albeit a slim one - considering that they have to beat India in the remaining matches and hope for Sri Lanka to lose their upcoming series to Zimbabwe to move up in the rankings.
