The player auction for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 has been postponed, and it is likely to be held in late February now.
The IPL 2017 auction was earlier scheduled to take place on February 04 in Bengaluru. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), however, has not issued a particular date yet. The 10th edition of the IPL is scheduled to begin from April 5.
Supreme Court recently appointed Committee of Administrators (COA) led by former CAG Vinod Rai. The COA after meeting BCCI officials decided to postpone the IPL 10 auctions. “The Committee of Administrators (COA) met the concerned BCCI officials today (Wednesday) to take stock of the urgent and important matters mainly concerning the successful conduct of IPL 2017,” a BCCI media release said.
According to a ESPNcricinfo report, the franchises expect the auction to take place between February 20-25.

”If we get the roster we can start making a shortlist of players we are after as then we come to know their availability which is always a big determining factor on which players teams pick,” one franchise CEO was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
