The Indian Premier League 2019 auction is just a couple of days away. The event, which will be held in Jaipur, will feature 346 players go under the hammer. There are a total of nine overseas players in the Rs 2 crore elite base price bracket. However, there are other international players who are priced at a lower rate and could become either wonderful bargain buys or rake in huge sums of money. With most Australian players unavailable for majority of the IPL due to World Cup commitments, players from New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa and this time, England can be expected to get huge money in the auction. Here are some of the foreign players to look out for in the 2019 IPL Auction.

1.)    Sam Curran – Base price of Rs 2 crore

The England hurt India with both bat and ball in the recently concluded Test series. His big-hitting lower down the order and his sensible bowling, combined with a wonderful game situation awareness, has made him a hot property in international cricket. With his availability confirmed for the full tournament, most franchises might go all out for his services.

2.)    Shimron Hetmyer – Base price of Rs 50 lakhs

His explosive batting in the series against India grabbed plenty of attention. His 106 and 94 in the first two ODIs displayed all the traits of Caribbean cricket, fearless, full of flair and dashing strokeplay. The youngster could be one of the biggest buys in this edition of the IPL.

3.)    Lockie Ferguson – Base price of Rs 1 crore

He has pace and was one of the most economical bowlers for Rising Pune Supergiant during the IPL 2017 campaign. Ferguson’s ability to extract pace and bounce on placid wickets is what gives him an advantage. In his recent international outing, he took 5/45 against Pakistan and many teams might be tempted to use him primarily as a strike bowler.

4.)    Jason Holder – Base price of Rs 75 lakhs

The West Indies skipper provides leadership and has been one of the key players for the side with both bat and ball. On current form, Holder will be a vital asset to the side in addition to his leadership skills.

5.)    Joe Denly – Base price of Rs 1 crore

He made a grand comeback to the international stage after a gap of eight years. On his comeback, he picked up 4/19 and chipped in with a useful 20 to win the match and also the Man of the Match award. Denly’s exploits in the Big Bash League and in the Pakistan Super League could make him a useful utility all-rounder in a franchise.
