The twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to begin on March 23 with Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore. On the eve of the first game, the team which made a comeback last season – Rajasthan Royals are back in the pink health for the upcoming season – literally.
The franchise coupled with their title sponsors JK Lakshmi Cement organized a ‘Jersey Launch’ event in Jaipur. In their new pink jersey – signifying their Pink City origin is all set for a cracking show under the stewardship of skipper Ajinkya Rahane, much charged up for the upcoming tournament.
The event was started with various dignitaries delivering their respective speeches. The executive chairman of Rajasthan Royals, Mr. Ranjit Barthakur welcomed one and all present there and spoke about the team’s inherent strength, dazzling instinct, fortitude coupled with the idea to wear the pink jersey.
He expressed affectionate concordance towards Rajasthan Royals’ title sponsor for believing in the team’s ability and signing a three-year contract with the organization.
He asserted, “We have an excellent team and believe in the discipline of the sport. Though every franchise is wanting to win, we as a franchise also concentrate on honest and ethical teamwork as more than 750 million people watch IPL. So the idea is to make a social impact on the World and also concentrate on winning the game.”
“Our philosophy at Rajasthan Royals is to win from anywhere. We want to replicate our 2008 performance and the way team is practicing I am sure we will produce better performances. However, more than that, our winning is the moral and social victory of spreading social goodness, kindness, and greatness,” he added.
He also talked about the reason why franchise made a paradigm shift from blue to pink and said, “Pink is the color of spring and as you go around the Jaipur city you can see the impact which pink color makes. On the 25th March, our aim is to light up Jaipur with Pink.”
At the time of jersey revealing, the likes of Jaydev Unadkat, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Samson were present who launched the jersey of 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will be up against Kings XI Punjab for their first game and this remains to be seen if they can start on a winning note. The game will be held at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on March 25.
