India on Wednesday will look to give Ashish Nehra a farewell gift by winning the first T20 match against New Zealand at his home ground Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
Nehra, who shall be playing his last international match for India, has requested for the reservation of an entire box for his friends and family at the venue.
It is quite certain that Ashish Nehra will play today as he was only named for the first of the three Twenty20 Internationals against New Zealand.
Team India enjoys an upper hand against New Zealand in Tests and ODIs but is yet to open account against world No. 1 New Zealand in T20 Internationals.
After ODI series drubbing, the visitors have pulled up their socks and sweated buckets on the eve of opening T20 International.
India last played New Zealand in the World T20 at VCA stadium in Nagpur where the hosts were thrashed by Kiwis in a low scoring match.

New Zealand fought well against world no. 1 in ODI but lost the series 2-0 and would like to win at least the T20 series being best in the format.
Team news:
India’s T20 squad is quite identical to its ODI and Virat Kohli will not want to make too many changes except giving chance to Ashish Nehra, keeping in mind his farewell match.
Apart from Nehra, Shreyas Iyer could also get his maiden international cap.
The Kiwis could bring Glenn Phillips in given the time he spent in the nets on Tuesday. Ish Sodhi also has a wonderful record in T20s in India and could also get a game.
Time and venue: India vs New Zealand, 1st T20I, November 1, 19:00 IST at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
