Royal Challengers Bangalore explosive opener Chris Gayle became the first batsman in T20 cricket to annexe the herculean 10000 run mark.
He achieved the milestone when he reached three in his innings for RCB against Gujarat Lions in the 2017 IPL game on Tuesday.
The destructive West Indian batsman who has slayed the best of bowling attacks across the top flight T20 leagues has been one of the belligerent stroke makers over the 10 editions of the IPL.
The Jamaican powerhouses own almost all the batting records in T20 cricket as well as the IPL. He leads the pack for the most number of centuries scored in T20 cricket with a staggering 18 tons. He also has the distinction of scoring the maximum tons (5) in the IPL.
Gayle has been churning out match-winning performances with the bat for RCB over the last five seasons. He has led the IPL run scoring charts in 2011 and 2012 season, thereby winning the Orange Cap.
