The scintillating batting display by Delhi Daredevils 'young Turks' Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson has received praises from all quarters. However, appreciation becomes even more special when it comes from 'the wall of Indian cricket' Rahul Dravid who also happens to be team's coach.
The batting maestro heaped praises on both Delhi batsmen for their power hitting skills in crunch situations to change team's fortunes in the Indian Premier League.
"Glad that you haven't been watching videos of me batting when you need 208 in 20 overs. Well done boys, terrific innings," Dravid told Pant and Samson after their aggressive knocks guided the team to its second successive IPL win.
Pant made 97 and Samson scored 61 during their match-winning partnership of 143 off 63 balls for the second wicket while chasing a mammoth target of 209 set by Gujarat Lions.
Dravid also lauded Pant's selfless approach despite being quite close to getting a century.
"What I found impressive in Rishabh's batting is that he was not worried about his hundred. He was always looking to take the team home. But I am a hard taskmaster and I hope next time you will finish the job and stay not out," he told the duo.
Delhi are currently fighting to stay alive in the league after a disastrous first half in the tournament.
