Gujarat Lions shall be locking horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their home turf at Rajkot on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to commence at 8 PM.
The sides have met each other thrice in the IPL with RCB winning on two occasions.
Gujarat Lions and Royal Challengers Bangalore both have been struggling to get their team balance in place and a string of defeats have been the testimony to the same.
Royal Challengers Bangalore stalwarts Chris Gayle and Shane Watson have been below par all through this tournament and their poor form has been the biggest headache for the team management.Meanwhile, bowling has been a big concern for the Bangalore team. Skipper Virat Kohli who missed the first few games looked promising with his superlative knock against Mumbai Indians.
Their seam attack is overly dependent on English seamer Tymal Mills and lack another potent seamer in their ranks.Bangalore spin attack has been bolstered by the inclusion of Samuel Badree who has impressed one and all with his leg spin. Badree has a good support cast in Y Chahal who has been the go to man for RCB to put the breaks on the scoring rate.
Gujarat Lions are also coming into the game at the back of three successive defeats. Gujarat batsmen have shown some scintillating strokeplay but failed to gel as a unit. The likes of Dwayne Smith, Brendon McCullum, Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik have all made decent contributed with the bat in the previous games.
Gujarat's pace attack which lacked the cutting edge in the opening matches has been bolstered by the inclusion of Andrew Tye who has been impressive with his variations and hogged the limelight with a hat-trick against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja would like to prove his worth with bat and ball after starting off rather off colour. The Lions have been stung by the absence of West Indian allrounder Dwyane Bravo who is still nursing an injury.
