IPL franchise Gujarat Lions are struggling for form after losing their last three matches. However, on Tuesday they are scheduled to take on Royal Challengers Bangalore on their home turf and it could be a turning point for them.
The Lions had a dream debut as they finished third in the last season. However, in 2017, they have faced heavy defeats against Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, before turning the tide against Rising Pune Supergiant at home.
Their top order batsmen like Brendon McCullum, Aaron Finch, Raina and Dinesh Karthik have been in good touch but they have not been firing in unison.
Bowling has been a matter of concern for the Lions as both their fast bowlers and spinners seem to lack the firepower to dismantle the opposition.
However, the inclusion of Andrew Tye has added sting to the bowling attack. Tye made a dream debut against Pune by taking five wickets, including a hat-trick apart from picking up two wickets against Mumbai.
Praveen Kumar, their senior-most fast bowler has been expensive and is lacking the swing which made him successful earlier. Indian star player Ravindra Jadeja and Shadab Jakati are handling the spin bowling department but have been unable to do anything of repute thus far.

All-rounder Dwayne Smith has also been inconsistent in the tournament and the Lions are missing the services of their star player Dwayne Bravo. The Suresh Raina led side are currently at seventh spot at the league table and their superstars have to fight in unison to get back to winning ways.
