New Delhi:

Skipper Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have been all out four times in 12 matches in the 10th season of the Indian Premier League. This is what forced the skipper to say that he has not seen so many batting collapses in a single season.

“We let ourselves down with the bat once again. I have not seen so many collapses for a team in one season. You don’t really understand what to do in times like these,” disheartened Kohli said at the post-match ceremony.

Vijay Mallya’s team have lost nine out of 12 matches played so far and with only 5 points, are at the bottom of the points table.

“It’s really disheartening. I don’t know what to say in games like these anymore. It’s happening many a times now for our liking. Anything we are trying with the bat is not working,” Kohli said.

“The whole squad is trying to be positive but we are not finding a way to make a big score. Wickets are falling too quickly, I can’t pinpoint anything, we are trying to be as positive as we can. Our preparations have been similar to what we did last year, but what matters is what you do on the field and this season has been against what we’ve wanted,” he further added.

Kings XI Punjab beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 19 runs despite putting up a sub-par target of 139 runs thanks to Axar Patel's lion-hearted all-round effort at Chinnaswamy Stadium that kept his team's IPL play-off hopes alive. Kings XI Punjab now have 10 points from 10 games while RCB after their ninth defeat in 12 matches stay at the bottom on five points.

Batting first, the visitors managed to put just 139 for 7 on board after a dismal start. Punjab kept on losing wickets on a difficult track against a disciplined Bangalore bowlers.

Axar made 38 off just 17 balls. He hit three fours and two sixes with 19 runs off the last over bowled by Shane Watson. He then grabbed 3/11 in in 3 overs with RCB skittled out for 119 in 19 overs.
