IPL 2017: RCB vs SRH - Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore shall be taking on defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in an IPL match at Bengaluru on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to commence from 8 PM at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 35 runs in the tournament opener played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium on 5th April. It is pretty even stevens between the two sides in the ten IPL encounters played so far with RCB winning 4 while 6 victories going to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The home side Royal Challengers are languishing at the bottom of the table after being bowled out for a dismal 49 runs, the lowest total in IPL history in their last game at Eden Gardens. Royal Challengers who currently have four points out the seven games they have played would need to win six of their last seven matches to aim for qualifying for the eliminators.

RCB's formidable batting lineup has been out of sorts and none of their batting stalwarts in Gayle or Kohli have been among the runs consistently. Meanwhile, their bowling too has a lot of chinks in the armour and haven't looked potent enough to bowl out opponents.Tymal Mills and Yuzvendra Chahal have been brilliant in patches but haven't delivered to their potential.Samuel Badree has been their surprise weapon so far and has unnerved their opponents with his leg spin.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are in a much better position as they are placed on the third spot with eight points in their kitty. Their batting has looked pretty solid with Australian skipper David Warner scoring consistently for them all through the tournament so far. Kane Williamson has scored 110 in his first two games at a strike rate of nearly 170. Yuvraj Singh who has been brilliant in patches missed the last game due to illness, but should return to the XI at the Chinnaswamy.SRH have one of the best bowling units in the IPL with a potent seam and spin attack. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has carried on his spectacular form from last season while Afghan leggie Rashid Khan has impressed one and all with his googlies.

So SRH would look to continue to cement their position in the top of the table with a win while Royal Challengers Bangalore would like to put behind their dismal performance against KKR and aim for a win to get their campaign back on track.
