Rishabh Pant has been a major boon to his bowling heavy franchise Delhi Daredevils and his teammate Sam Billings has claimed that he could emerge as the successor to India's greatest wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni.

Rishabh Pant could be MS Dhoni's successor: Sam Billings

Rishabh Pant, the heavily talented young Indian wicketkeeper- batsman of Delhi Daredevils has impressed one and all with his impressive performances of the season.His hard hitting skills and amazing work behind the stumps has enhanced his reputation with people touting him to emerge as an heir to one of the greatest ever Indian captains, MS Dhoni.

The same thoughts were echoed by Englishman Sam Billings who's also Pant's teammate in Delhi Daredevils.Pant's tenacity, dedication towards his team and mental toughness was on full display as he scored a fighting half-century in Daredevils first match after losing his father just a day before the match.

Since, then his team has been heavily dependent upon him and Sanju Samson to guide them from the batting front. His consistency and attitude has made him one of the leading run-scorers of his bowling heavy IPL franchise.

“He is phenomenal, both as a batsman and a keeper, just looking at the way he has done in these first few games. He was standing up to the stumps, almost Dhoni-esque. There is no doubt in my mind that once MS Dhoni hangs his boots, Pant is the guy (to replace him)'', said Sam Billings.

Pant has accumulated 141 runs from four matches including a half-century and is well in the run for the orange cap with his stylish and phenomenal strokeplay.DD have two victories from four matches and are at No. 4 spot in the IPL 2017 points table.
