Rising Pune Supergiant stormed into the Indian Premier League 2017 final by defeating table toppers Mumbai Indians on their home turf on Tuesday in the Qualifier 1.

The visitors, after a dismal start, managed to put a daunting target of 163-run on a tricky Wankhede Stadium pith thanks to stellar batting display by MS Dhoni in the slog overs.

Dhoni made 40 runs off just 26 balls with the help of five towering sixes. Ajinkya Rahane (56), Manoj Tiwary (58) scored brilliant half-centuries to help the cause.

Batting second, Mumbai Indians began the chase superbly scoring 35 runs in just four overs. However, the home team suffered a massive batting order meltdown losing Lendle Simmons, Rohith Sharma, Ambati Rayudu and Kieron Pollard in the next four overs with just 51 runs on board.

Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur emerged as key figures for Pune taking three wickets each to unsettle the Mumbai batting lineup.

Mumbai kept on losing wickets on regular interval and succumbed under pressure.
