Delhi Daredevils displayed a clinical performance as they outplayed Rising Pune Supergiant on all fronts and thrashed them by 97 runs. Kerala youngster Sanju Samson scored a majestic maiden T20 century to help his Delhi post a mammoth score of 205 runs. Chris Morris scored a whirlwind 38 runs off just 9 balls and Rishabh Pant too scored 31 runs to take the score past the 200 run-mark.
Samson was also given the Man of the Match award for his exceptional batting as the 22-year-old right hander became the second youngest player to strike a century in the IPL.
The Pune bowlers were unable to break the youngster's resolve as he hit five sixes and eight fours in his knock.Rising Pune Supergiant began their innings on a disappointing note as they were flummoxed by the Delhi bowlers and kept on losing wickets.
Delhi captain Zaheer Khan provided the early breakthroughs and picked up three wickets along with leg-spinner Amit Mishra. Pat Cummins offered excellent support as he garnered up two wickets with his raw pace and accuracy.
The remaining two wickets were grabbed by Shahbaz Nadeem and Chris Morris as the Pune batsmen got completely bamboozled by the varieties available with the Delhi attack.
