IPL 2017 | SRH vs RPS, Match Preview: Sunrisers Hyderabad look to halt Rising Pune Supergiants' resurgence at home

IPL 2017 | SRH vs RPS - Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner

Sunrisers Hyderabad shall be taking on Rising Pune Supergiants in an IPL encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The match is scheduled to commence at 4 pm.

The teams have clashed thrice in the IPL with Rising Pune Supergiants winning on two occasions. Both Rising Pune Supergiant and Sunrisers Hyderabad sitting on the top half of the table and would like to cement their place in the top four with a win.

Rising Pune Supergiants have risen like a phoenix from the ashes to come back strongly in the IPL at the back of wins. The Pune batting has come good after ace finisher Mahendra Singh Dhoni and English all-rounder Ben Stokes showcased spectacular performances with the bat in the last few games.

The Pune bowling which looked weak at the beginning of the tournament has been bolstered by the inclusion of left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur. Both Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur have been successful in choking the flow of runs in the powerplay.

Washington Sundar has been deceptive with his pace and deceived the best of batsman with his variations. Meanwhile Proteas ace leg-spinner Imran Tahir has been their strike weapon in the spinning department. So in all, it is looking good for Pune who are gelling well as a team in the business end of the tournament.

Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad who have been unbeatable on home soil shall look to extend their winning streak at their fortress in Hyderabad.

Sunrisers would not take their opponents lightly after being handed a defeat against Delhi Daredevils in their last game. Captain David Warner has been in splendid form all through the season and holds the Orange Cap.

Warner has been rendered good support by the likes of Moses Henriques and Yuvraj Singh who have played their part with some useful knocks. Kane Williamson has reinvented themselves as an attacking T-20 batsman with his quick-fire runs in the middle of the innings.

Sunrisers has perhaps one of the most formidable bowling lineups with their seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar in rich wicket-taking form. Bhuvi has been well partnered by the old war horse Ashish Nehra and young pacer Siddhart Kaul who had held his nerves in tricky situations.

So it looks to be an evenly poised contest with both sides aiming to cement their place in the playoffs.
