IPL table toppers Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a humiliating 48-run defeat at the hands of defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad thanks to an explosive century by captain David Warner at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday.

Batting first, the home team made light work of KKR's illustrious bowling attack with Warner taking the charge to propel the side to a massive 209-run score in 20 overs losing just three wickets in the process.

Warner and his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan gave the host the start they needed against Kolkata with a 139-run stand for the first wicket.
Chasing the mammoth total, the visitors suffered early jolts in the form of Sunil Narine and captain Gautam Gambhir in the rain-affected match.

KKR could not recovered from the early set back and kept losing wickets in regular intervals. Even the likes of Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan could not prevent the inevitable.
