Gujarat defeated Jharkhand by 123 runs in their semifinal encounter to secure their place in the Ranji Trophy final after a long gap of 65 years.

Gujarat's semifinal win was engineered by a fine display of seam bowling by seasoned pacers Jasprit Bumrah and RP Singh, who rattled through the Jharkhand batting order to seal an impressive 123-run win.

With the win under their belt, they become the first team to enter the Ranji Trophy final.

It was way back in 1951 when Pheroze Naoraoji Cambhatta and Polly Umrigar's brilliance steered Gujarat to the finals of the Ranji Trophy. It was indeed a triumphant moment for Parthiv Patel and his men.

Bumrah ended the game with a six-wicket haul to lead his team from the front. Gujarat made a sensational comeback after ending the day at 100 for 4. They were reduced to 137 for 6 before Juneja and Chirag Gandhi propped up their side with a magnificent stand.
