Karun Nair became only the second Indian to score a triple century in Test cricket. Nair playing in only his third Test achieved the milestone when he racked up the triple ton against England in the fifth Test being played at Chennai.

Former Indian Test opener Virender Sehwag has two triple hundred's to his name.Sehwag has scores of 319 vs South Africa and 309 vs Pakistan to his name.

On Day 4, he stitched a useful partnerhsip with Murali Vijay to take India past England's daunting first innings score of 447. He continued piling up the runs by forging parterships with R Ashwin and R Jadeja to take India past the 700 run mark and secure a commanding lead over the visitors.

Nair has been a consistent run getter for his state side Karnataka in Ranji Trophy and was rewarded with a Test cap after a stellar season with the willow in last Ranji season.
