Two-time winners of IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders had their first practice session on Monday at the Jadavpur University campus ground in Salt Lake.
KKR Captain Dinesh Karthik became overnight hero after his blinder of an innings of 28 not out from just eight balls, powering India to a last ball win over Bangladesh in the Nidahas Trophy 2018 final in Colombo on Sunday.

Karthik has been in superb form and displayed that when he sealed the final match against Bangladesh in a dramatic fashion with a six.
The 32-year-old wicket keeper batsman is likely to join the KKR squad later this month along with former South African all-rounder and current coach Jacques Kallis.
The KKR team decided to have light warm-up sessions to start their pre-season training on Monday and exempted them from net sessions.
Vice-captain Robin Uthappa along with 10 other players were involved in the first training session of the campaign.
The players included India`s Under-19 World Cup winning pair of Shubman Gill and Kamlesh Nagarkoti, fast bowler R. Vinay Kumar, leg spinner Ishank Jaggi and West Indian all-rounder Javon Searless.
KKR will start their IPL season at Eden Gardens against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 8.
