Indian cricket team’s chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav made to the record books as he became the fastest Indian spinner to scalp 50 One-Day International wickets and the second fastest Indian bowler to achieve the feat after former Indian seamer Ajit Agarkar, who reached the milestone in just 23 ODIs. Kuldeep Yadav also became the second fastest spinner to take half-century of wickets after Sri Lanka’s mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis, who took only 19 matches. Kuldeep Yadav hit the 50 ODI wickets mark in 24 matches. The record was previously held by Amit Mishra, who got there in 32 ODIs.

Meanwhile, India survived a mighty scare against minnows Hong Kong in their opening fixture of the Asia Cup 2018 as the Men in Blue defeated the Anshuman Rath-led side by 26 runs.

Openers Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath scored a record opening partnership for Hong Kong as they scored 174 runs to give jitters to the Indian camp. But, it was Kuldeep Yadav who gave Rohit Sharma and co the breakthrough as India were able to get through by the skin of their teeth.
