India is taking on Sri Lanka in the first of the three Tests at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Most part of play on Day One was hit by rain. Sri Lanka made early inroads into the Indian batting courtesy strikes by seamer Suranga Lakmal who produced a brilliant spell of seam bowling in seamer friendly conditions.

Suranga Lakmal got Lokesh Rahul with the first delivery of the match and then made quick work of Shikhar Dhawan and skipper Virat Kohli.
