After dominating Day 1's play with a subtle display of batting performance by Aussie duo Smith and Maxwell, the visitors will look to stronghold their grip on the Day 2 of third Test match being played between India and Australia in Ranchi.
Hosting its maiden Test match, the Ranchi wicket looks a batting paradise after the first-day play, where Australia won the toss and decided to bat first on Thursday.

Displaying a disciplined show, the Indian bowling attack got rid of Aussie openers quickly and took 2 more wickets to put the visitors in trouble. But Captain Smith's blistering knock and a good resistance from Maxwell ensured Australia to dominate the remaining day's play.
Trouble turned its way to Indian side as well as Indian Skipper got off the field after sustaining a shoulder injury after which Rahane captained the side. It would be interesting to see if Kohli makes a comeback on the field.
The Indian pace attack would look to give early blows to Australia with some quick wickets at the start of the play with the new ball available with the team.
