Virat Kohli, Oh what a batsman he is! The Indian skipper hit his 16th century and along with Ajinkya Rahane took the team's score past 300 runs on the first day of the Hyderabad Test. At present, both Virat and Rahane are looking fabulous on the crease as India seem set towards a big first-innings score. Ajinkya Rahane too seems set for a big score and has justified the management's faith in his abilities despite a recent string of small scores.
All the Indian batsmen seem to be in good touch as India will look to dominate the match from this position.
Bangladesh has failed to impress in their one-off Test thus far as Indian batsmen have played miraculously thus far. Although KL Rahul was bowled as he dragged a wide ball from Taskin Ahmed, opener Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara displayed sublime skills to take India to a strong position.
The Hyderabad wicket provided good carry to the fast bowlers and both the batsmen had some luck early on. Bangladesh failed to capitalise on the good work of their fast bowlers as some catches were dropped and edges went flying. Pujara fell as 200 run mark was in sight for India and was denied a well deserved century. Vijay however hit a majestic century and carried on the good work with skipper Virat Kohli as the score surpassed 200 runs. Although Taijul Islam accounted for Vijay, Kohli and Rahane kept on piling the runs from the other end.
