The day 2 of the first Test match between England and India at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham promises pure excitement as the first day saw a topsy-turvy ride for both the teams.
England finished the first day at 285/9, but it will be a huge disappointment for Joe Root and co. as at one point they were cruising with 216/3 on board and India were looking hopeless and out for the count.
Joe Root (80 from 156) put a strong 104-run partnership for the fourth wicket alongside ever-dependable Jonny Bairstow (70 from 88).

But Joe Root’s run out triggered a mini collapse and that is why Test cricket is so fascinating because all through the day the fortunes swung like a pendulum and both sides were never out of it for any moment.
