India lost the first cricket Test against South Africa by 72 runs to give the hosts a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

South Africa were all out for 130 in their second innings at the stroke of lunch on day four of the first Test against India at Newlands, Cape Town.

India, who were at one point struggling in the game and was on the verge of a major defeat, came back strongly courtesy their wonderful bowling effort.

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami tormented South Africans with their fierce bowling while Bhuvneshwar, the hero of first innings, removed the tailenders quite easily.

After taking a commanding first innings lead of 142 runs at stumps on Day 2, the hosts were a bit unlucky as heavy rains washed Day 3 completely.

Starting from their first innings lead of 142, South Africa lost their 8 wickets for only 65 runs and managed to set a 208-run target for India.

# OUT!! India lose wicket number 9 as Shami falls. Wicket number five for Philander.

# Shami is the new man in. South Africa is only two wickets away from the victory.

# OUT!!! Ashwin the last of India is crushed by Philander. Kohli is disappointed, the entire nation is disappointed.

# Score after 32 overs: India 92-7, Ashwin 8(24); Bhuvneshwar 3(9)

It's Tea time at Newlands. What a session of Test match cricket. India are 82/7 needing 126 runs to win. The Proteas need 3 wickets to take a 1-0 lead. See you in 20 minutes

# Out! Rabada gets in on the action as he gets the wicket of Saha LBW. He reviewed the decision and the umpires call stayed. India 77/6 at Tea.

Score after 27 overs: India 82-6 Saha 8(13), Ashwin 1(9)

# OUT!! Pandya also departs. What a collapse it is. Poor, poor stuff from Indian batsmen.

# Pandya, the first innings hero comes out to bat. Can he do the magic in the second innings as well?

# OUT!! And this was coming. Rohit Sharma played a nothing shot way away from the body. Bowl took the inside edge and came back onto the stumps.

# Out!! Kohli falls, India again in trouble. He was looking good. But Philander once again proved his mettle. Big wicket for South Africa and they know it.

Score after 21 overs: India 71-3, Rohit 9(25), Kohli 28(36)

Vijay and Dhawan are at the crease. Vijay is on strike. Philander will open the attack

# OUT!! ABD out. That means Steyn will go not out. South Africa all out for 130 runs. Wonderful stuff from Indian bowlers. They changed the entire game in just 2 hours. India need 208 runs to win the first Test.

# OUT!!! Bhuvneshwar does it again. Morne Morkel out. Is this the end of the innings for South Africa?? No.. injured Steyn will come bat. Brave Steyn but South Africa risking his fitness.

# OUT!! Bhuvneshwar Kumar strikes finally, and he scalped Keshav Maharaj. South Africa 8 down.

# Narendra Bunde, the man who correctly predicted about Sachin Tendulkar’s comeback from tennis elbow injury, his Bharat Ratna honour, Sourav Ganguly’s comeback, India’s World Cup triumph in 2011, has made one more prediction. This time, his prediction involves Virat Kohli and India’s success in the world cricket overseas. And today’s change of events, I am not taking the credit away from Indian bowlers, hints his prediction might turn correct this time as well.
