Mayank Agarwal was making up for lost time. Lost time because in 2017/18, he had scored close to 3000 runs in domestic cricket but was still not called up for the Indian cricket team. This streak of runs had him scoring 1000 runs in a single month. Despite all the mountain of runs, Agarwal was considered unlucky to not have been selected for India. An injury to Prithvi Shaw, failure of the openers in Australia was the catalyst for Agarwal to finally express himself in Tests in India. After the Vizag double and Pune ton against South Africa, Agarwal raised his game to the next level in Indore against Bangladesh. The Karnataka right-hander smashed 243, his highest individual score and was well aided by 86 from Ajinkya Rahane and a fifty from Ravindra Jadeja as India amassed a massive 493/6, leading by 343 runs at the end of the day at the Holkar stadium.
15:40 hrs IST: WICKET! End of the Test match and Ashwin gets the final wicket to fall. India have thrashed Bangladesh by an innings and 130 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series. Match over in three days and that will disappoint Bangladesh immensely.
15:30 hrs IST: WICKET! It is the end for Mushfiqur Rahim. Flighted ball from Ashwin and Rahim mistimes the lofted shot. It is a fantastic catch by Pujara who runs back and takes a superb catch from long off. Bangladesh are 208/9, trailing by 135 runs.
15:22 hrs IST: WICKET! Brute of a bouncer from Shami. He gets it to climb up awkwardly on Taijul who can only fend it to Wriddhiman Saha. Bangladesh are 208/8, trailing by 135 runs.
15:11 hrs IST: After Mehidy, Taijul Islam is frustrating India with a solid partnership. Mushfiqur Rahim is absolutely holding firm at the other end. Bangladesh 203/7, trailing by 140 runs.
14:28 hrs IST: WICKET! Umesh breaks the solid stand. Good length ball that climbs up and it darts back in off the seam, Mehidy tries to get behind the line but the ball hits back elbow and rolls back onto the stumps. Bangladesh are 194/7, trail by 149 runs.
14:15 hrs IST: That is tea on day 3 of the Indore Test. Mushfiqur Rahim has shown great spirit with his 20th fifty and he has shared a partnership in excess of fifty with Mehidy Hasan. Bangladesh still trail by 152 runs but they have shown plenty of fight.
13:50 hrs IST: 20th fifty for Mushfiqur Rahim. The Bangladesh veteran is showing true grit. India are getting slightly frustrated here. Bangladesh are 169/6, trailing by 174 runs.
13:20 hrs IST: WICKET! The solid partnership has been broken. Liton Das played some aggressive and confident cricket but Ravichandran Ashwin gets the better of him. Flighted delivery on off stump, Liton Das jumps down the track and looks to drive it straight down the ground. However, Ashwin takes a sharp catch. Bangladesh are 135/6, still trailing by 208 runs.
13:01 hrs IST: Rahim and Liton Das are playing some aggressive cricket. Bangladesh are batting with far more confidence after the lunch break. Rahim and Liton are the last recognised pair. Bangladesh are 114/5, trailing by 229 runs.
12:33 hrs IST: WICKET! Shami gets his reward and once again, he is doing a brilliant job in the second innings. Good length ball and in the corridor outside off, Mahmudullah pokes at it and this time, the edge settles in second slip where Rohit makes no mistake. Bangladesh 72/5, trailing by 271 runs.
11:34 hrs IST: That is lunch on day 3 and needless to say, Bangladesh are almost down and out. They have lost the top order cheaply again due to some brilliant bowling from the likes of Shami, Ishant and Umesh. Only Mahmudullah and Rahim are the last recognised pair and once they go, the tail is a long one for Bangladesh. At lunch, Bangladesh are 60/4, trailing by 283 runs.
11:22 hrs IST: Mahmudullah and Rahim are fighting an epic battle as they look to counter the swing and accuracy of Ishant and Shami. They are making very difficult progress. Bangladesh are 58/4, trailing by 285 runs.
11:05 hrs IST: DROPPED! If there is one area that has been of concern in this Test, it has been the slip catching. Shami lures Mushfiqur Rahim with a full ball outside off, Rahim edges it to the second slip region but Rohit Sharma drops the catch. Shami not amused. Bangladesh are 48/4, trailing by 295 runs.
10:54 hrs IST: WICKET! Terrible shot from Mohamamd Mithun and Shami gets his second wicket. Short ball and climbing up from the deck, it hurries to Mithun who horribly miscues the pull shot to be caught at midwicket. Bangladesh are 44/4, trailing by 299 runs.
10:44 hrs IST: WICKET! Superb use of the review by Mohammed Shami. He forced Kohli to take it. Good length ball angled in from round the wicket and it nips back in off the seam as well, Mominul plays slightly inside the line and gets hit on the pad. The ball hits the pad and India appeal. The umpire says not out and the review is taken. No bat and the ball is hitting leg stump. Bangladesh are 38/3, trailing by 305 runs.
10:24 hrs IST: Ishant and Umesh are getting plenty of swing and bounce from the Indore deck. Both Bangladesh batsmen are surviving by the skin of their teeth as they reach 20/2, trailing by 323 runs.
10:09 hrs IST: WICKET! Brilliant exhibition of seam and swing bowling from India. Ishant gets this good length delivery to nip back in sharply from round the wicket, Shadman tries to defend but the ball breaches his defence and hits the top of leg stump. Bangladesh are 18/2, trail by 326 runs.
09:57 hrs IST: WICKET! Simply superb from Umesh. The inswinger into the left-hander has finally reaped success. Full ball and it curves back in sharply, Imrul Kayes cannot cover for the swing and the leg stump goes for a walk. Bangladesh are 10/1, trailing by 334 runs.
09:44 hrs IST: India have declared with a massive lead of 343 runs in the Indore Test. Bangladesh now have a massive task of saving the Test and there are still three days to go. Ishant and Umesh Yadav open the bowling and both Bangladesh openers begin with a boundary. Bangladesh are 8/0.
