Poonam Yadav was the star with 4/19 and she was ably supported by Deepti Sharma's unbeaten 49 and valuable bowling contributions from Shikha Pandey and Rajeshwari Gayakwad. A win for India women's cricket team in their next games against Bangladesh and New Zealand will help them seal a spot in the playoffs. For New Zealand, they started their campaign on a high with a seven-wicket win against Sri Lanka as Sophie Devine continued on her record-breaking run with a sixth consecutive fifty-plus score.
