The BCCI, on Monday, has informed the Kolkata Police that Mohammed Shami stayed at a Dubai hotel on 17 and 18 February.
Hasin Jahan had earlier alleged that Shami went to Dubai to meet a Pakistani model, Alishba, with whom he stayed at a five-star hotel.
"I met Shami in Dubai. I frequently travel to Dubai as my sister stays in Sharjah. As a person, I really like Shami. As any fan that has idolized a celebrity, they always dream of meeting their idol. I have a lot of respect for him and we became good friends. We had a normal conversation,’’ Alishba said while defending her meeting with Shami.
While denying any exchange of money between her and Shami, Alishba said "As far as Mohammad bhai is concerned, I have no idea who he is. Shami has sometimes taken his names in our conversations but neither I know him personally nor I have to do anything with him.”
"I met Shami in the morning of February 18. I boarded the flight on 17th night and it was past midnight when I reached Dubai. From the airport, I went to my sister's place and met Shami on 18th morning around 8-9 am. We had breakfast together at the hotel. It was normal meeting just a like a fan meets a celebrity,” Alishba added.
Alishba’s name first flashed up when Shami’s wife made the phenomenal claims in the media. While accusing Shami of numerous extra marital affairs, she also claimed that her husband was involved in vulgar texting with other women.
Shami has been slapped with an FIR relating to multiple cases of adultery, domestic abuse and attempted murder. Kolkata Police, on Sunday, visited Amroha to question Shami.
The Committee of Administrators (COA) chief Vinod Rai has order Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) chief Neeraj Kumar to investigate the case against the Indian pacer. Shami had met with Neeraj Kumar in Delhi last week.
Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been hitting the headlines due to his controversy with wife Hasin Jahan. BCCI have kept him out of the central contract, igniting the rumours of him missing the IPL.
Shami was bought by Delhi Daredevils for a sum of three crore rupees.
