Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Sunday visited Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district to attend a cricket match organised by army at Kunzar.

While interacting with players and local people Captain Cool said that, “An India vs Pakistan series is not just sports, its much more than that so the Government is the best judge and upto them to take a call if we should play.”

The statement comes as a reaction to the Government’s stand to ban cricket matches between the two countries citing that Pakistan provide safe havens to the terrorist organisations.

In May 2017, the Government of India ruled out any possibilities of bilateral series between India and Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had alleged that BCCI should compensate to the tune of $60 million due to losses suffered for refusal to conduct bilateral series.

BCCI had always maintained that since no legal document was signed with PCB and that a series with Pakistan was subject to approval by the government, so compensation was out of question.
