New Delhi:

Mumbai has been the bastion of domestic cricket in India. The maidans of Mumbai have produced some illustrious cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar who have donned the national cap for India and served the country with great distinction.

One trait which separates the Mumbai Boys from rest of the country is that they have an appetite for scoring big runs.

Carrying on the great legacy of master blasters like Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Tanishq Gavate produced a herculean knock of 1045 runs in a school tournament held in Navi Mumbai.

Tanishq bettered the knock of another Mumbaikar Pranav Dhanawde who had scored a mammoth  1009 runs in a school tournament. Tanishq played for Yashwantrao Chavan XI against the Yashwantrao Chavan English Medium School in the Under-14 Navi Mumbai Shield invitational cricket tournament.

Gavate remained not out on 1045 runs at the end of his innings. Gavate’s innings came off just 515 balls studded with 149 fours and a mammoth 67 sixes.

Tanishq played this knock over two days – on Monday and Tuesday – at the semi-final of the tournament at the Yashwantrao Chavan English Medium School Ground in Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai.
