Ravichandran Ashwin, the Indian all-rounder, has touched the pinnacle of 200 wickets in his 37th Test match. The wily off spinner trapped New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson in front to complete this record.

During this process, he became the fastest Indian to achieve this milestone. However, he fell one match short of Australia’s leg spinner Clarrie Grimmett, who had achieved the record in his 36th match.

Ashwin has also displayed an amazing performance in India’s 500th Test match against New Zealand at Kanpur. Whereas, he made 40 valuable runs in the first innings, his bowling has wreaked havoc in the New Zealand camp. He has already taken 7 wickets in the match and seems all set to hand India another handsome win on the last day.

The Tamil Nadu offie started his Test career as a spin bowler and gradually evolved into the team’s talismanic all-rounder. Till date he has scored 4 centuries and 6 half centuries, thus establishing himself as a valuable lower order batsman.

Ashwin’s prolific wicket taking skills have helped India to establish various memorable victories around the globe. India’s recently concluded tour of West Indies saw Ashwin give some amazing impetus to his all-round skills as India easily won the Test series 2-0.
