Ranji Trophy: Himachal Pradesh's Pankaj Jaswal scores second fastest half-century in Indian first-class cricket

Himachal Pradesh's Pankaj Jaswal produced a scintillating display of power hitting as he tore apart the Goan bowling attack to register the second fastest half-century in first-class cricket on day three of the Group D match at the Dharamsala ground.

The HP bowler scored the second-fastest 50, off just 16 balls, in Indian first-class cricket. The 22-year-old produced a whirlwind 63 run knock off 20 balls, at a strike rate of 315, with four fours and seven maximum. The fastest fifty though belongs to Bandeep Singh of Jammu and Kashmir. He had scored his fifty of just 15 balls in a game against Tripura in 2015.

Jaswal not known for his batting prowess came out to bat at number nine with Himachal's score reading 541/7. The fastest ever fifty cricket history belongs to Yuvraj Singh who registered his half ton in just 12 deliveries against England in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup in South Africa. The left-hander annihilated the English bowlers and his six-sixes off Stuart Broad's over was the icing on the cake in that glittering knock.
