Ravichandran Ashwin had the most eventfull year of his career in 2016. He won the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy after being named as the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2016 and now his wife Prithi Ashwin revealed that the couple had become parents for the second time.

Prithi Ashwin didn’t want the spotlight to shift from her husband’s brilliant exploits that won him a pair of rare ICC awards.

Prithi gave birth to a baby girl on December 21, a day after India completed a 4-0 rout of England at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. Ashwin couple married in 2011 and became parents for the first time in June, last year.

The star India off-spinner has been in the form of his life for the last two years and is currently the top-ranked bowler and all-rounder in Test cricket.

Ashwin won man-of-the-series awards in four successive series - against Sri Lanka, South Africa, West Indies and New Zealand.
