Indian ace allrounder Ravindra Jadeja on Monday became only the third player in Test cricket after all-rounder Kapil Dev and Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson to score 500-plus runs and take 50 wickets in a season.
The World Number one Test bowler completed the double figures of scoring 1000 runs and taking 100 wickets. The all-rounder Jadeja after scoring 63 runs in the first innings of the fourth and final Test against Australia on day three reached this milestone.
Earlier, the record was in name of India’s all-rounder Kapil Dev and Australian speedster Mitchell Johnson. Kapil in 1979-80 season played 13 matches scoring 535 runs and took 63 wickets while Johnson in 2008-09 season played 12 matches making 527 runs and claiming 60 wickets.

Jadeja has struck a purple patch with both bat and ball in 2016-17 season as he scored 556 runs and picked up 71 wickets in 13 matches. The all-rounder was in sensational form all through the Border Gavaskar series and bagged the Man of series award in the recently concluded series against the Aussies.
