Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played a heroic role in India's victory in the 2nd Test. His 70 runs and 7 wickets helped India take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series and he was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match. Skipper Virat Kohli lauded Jadeja's contribution and claimed that he was a precious talent.
India outplayed Sri Lanka completely and defeated them by a massive margin of an innings and 53 runs.
The match however, didn't end on a happy note for Jadeja who has been suspended for one Test after throwing the ball at a Sri Lanka batsman.
Jadeja fielded the ball off his own bowling on day three and threw it back at Sri Lanka opener Dimuth Karunaratne in what umpires deemed to be a dangerous manner.
The ICC said because of a previous breach of the players' code of conduct in a match against New Zealand in 2016, Jadeja was suspended for the third Test, which starts Saturday, and fined 50 percent of his match fee. After his suspension, Jadeja took to Twitter and took a rather sarcastic dig at the ICC.Â
