Rishabh Pant had a magnificent series in Australia when it came to keeping behind the wickets, with the bat and with the sledging. With the bat, he blasted a century in Sydney to become the first Indian wicketkeeper to hit a century in Australia and also the first Indian keeper to hit two centuries overseas. Behind the wickets, he was in sublime form, taking a joint-record 11 catches in the Adelaide Test to play a vital part in India’s win in the first Test while overall in the series, he took over 20 dismissals, making it the most by an Indian keeper in a bilateral series win. Pant, who is now back in the country, is now basking in the adulation that he has received. However, he is setting social media on fire yet again, not because of his sledging but because of this particular reason.
On the Instagram page of a certain Isha Negi (@ishanegi_), the real love of Pant’s life was revealed. On her Instagram page, Negi wrote, “My man, my soulmate, my best friend, the love of my life. @rishabpant.” The ‘revelation’ has taken social media by storm, with many fans of Pant expressing happiness while some of his fans getting their heart broken.

In an interview to Times of India, Pant opened up on his sledging and said he will give it back. “If someone provokes me, I’ll give it back. I had a duty to do for my team. But I know the code of conduct. I remember my values. I have sledged and people have actually loved it,” Pant said.

The Delhi left-hander spoke about criticism that he has sometimes received about his wicketkeeping skills. He added that criticism from people is not warranted if they sit at a distance and not do anything to help. Recently, he said Adam Gilchrist, whom he considers his role model, came to him and offered him help on the recent tour Down Under. “If someone really wants to help me, then he can always come. He came to me by himself. We couldn’t spend much time but (now) I can go to him whenever I need help,” Pant said.
