Indian Test discard Robin Uthappa has reposed his faith in the out of form test player Ajinkya Rahane. On Thursday he said that  he should “just keep playing.”

“There comes a bad patch in every cricketer's career, even the great Sunil Gavaskar went through it. It can happen to any cricketer. The sooner his lean patch ends its better for Indian cricket,” said Uthappa while attending Dr. Dayal Foundation (DDF) at Mumbai.

The Saurashtra cricketer while interacting with the media, said he feels that the selectors will have enough faith Ajinkya, which is why they are continuing with him. “I wish him to get back to his form very soon and score lots of runs.”

Former Indian captain and coach Ajit Wadekar was facilitated with the lifetime achievement award at the event.

“Rohit is a very good player and I expect him to do well in South Africa. Cricket has changed a lot and one has to move ahead with time,” said the 76-year-old former captain of the Indian cricket team.
