Indian cricket team faced a lot of ups and downs under the captaincy of both Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, the two iconic batsmen of ‘Men in Blue’ after their legendary exploits on the field for over a decade, now share a special bond off-the-field too.
In a special interview for Gaurav Kapur’s YouTube channel ‘Breakfast With Champions,’ the former Indian skipper revealed a lot of secrets from the dressing room and life the fans don’t get to know about. In one of the surprising revelations, ‘Dada’ disclosed that Sachin Tendulkar used to sleepwalk at night during tournaments.
“During my early cricket days, we were touring England with Sachin as my room partner and I spotted him walking across the room one night, I thought he must have got up to use the washroom, so I turned around and slept and didn’t ask him anything the following day. But the same happened for a couple of days, so I asked him to stop doing that as he was scaring me. And in reply, Sachin said that he has this habit of sleepwalking at night,” revealed Sourav Ganguly.
The president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) also revealed that the 'Master Blaster' used to play with his bat whenever he was going through a bad patch of form.
When asked whether the people of Kolkata are more proud of him as the former captain of Indian cricket team or the owner of a football club (Atletico de Kolkata), Sourav said, “Nothing comes close to being the captain of Indian cricket team, and no one can take cricket away from this country.”
