The past week and a half have been very disturbing for the cricket fans all across the globe as the news of Suresh Raina’s death made it to the headlines. From posts to videos, there was absolutely no dearth of the tragic news. The reports suggested that the southpaw met with a fatal accident, leaving cricket fraternity all over the place.Â
However, on Monday 11th February, the left-handed batsman took to Twitter to shut the fake news and slam the ones who posted it. The World Cup-winning star said that he is trying his level best to make the fake news producer get punished. He further said that the news of his accident had deeply disturbed his family and close ones.Â
“Past few days there has been fake news of me being hurt in a car accident. The hoax has my family & friends deeply disturbed. Please ignore any such news; with God's grace, I’m doing absolutely fine. Those @youtube channels have been reported & hope strict actions will be taken soonâ€

RELATED
Meanwhile, Suresh Raina last featured in the colored jersey against England on their home soil. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to make a huge impact in the series eventually being ousted from the squad. Post England series, Raina has struggled to find form in the domestic circuit which makes his chances for the upcoming World Cup pencil-thin.
In Ranji Trophy, Raina scored mere 243 runs in last five encounters. He also missed a lot of domestic games for Uttar Pradesh which made the selectors concentrate on other candidates.Â
Raina will next be seen in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which begins in days’ time. Uttar Pradesh will lock horns with Maharashtra in their first game at Delhi on 21st February. The premier domestic T20 tournament will probably be the last opportunity for Raina to prove his stature. It will be interesting to see if he is able to give the selectors a good headache prior to picking India team for the World Cup.Â
