Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar today asked aspiring boys and girls to toil hard to realise their dream of playing for India. Inaugurating a sprawling new stadium named after Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Baramati, home town of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Sharad Pawar, Tendulkar said youngsters should be ready to work hard if they want success in their cricket career.
He also hailed Pawar’s contribution in promoting infrastructural facilities for the spot.
“I had a dream to play for India and win the World Cup. It was a long journey. You should sweat out as much as the water used by the groundsman to maintain the field,” the legendary batsman advised young aspirants.
He lauded Pawar for providing better cricketing facilities since taking over as the MCA chairman. A ceremonial T20 match was organised between Maharashtra and Mumbai teams to mark the occasion.
Those present included Ajinkya Rahane, Ajit Agarkar and Wasim Jaffer.
