Three arrested in Maharashtra for betting on IPL final

Three persons have been arrested here for allegedly betting on the IPL final match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the city Crime Branch and Economic Offenses Wing led by DCP Sandeep Atole raided an apartment in the R B Hills area here late last night and nabbed the three persons - Naresh Potalwad, Ajit Agle aka Chhotu and Prakash Thole - while they were betting on the match played in Bengaluru, they said.

A mini telephone exchange board used for giving connections to the bookies, some cash, 48 mobile handsets, a laptop, a television set and some paper chits were recovered from them.

Potalwad was arrested earlier also under charges of betting during the last season of IPL, police said.

A case has been registered with the Mukundwadi police station and further probe is on, they added.
