Jammu and Kashmir's skipper came up with a brilliant all round performance to beat Saurashtra cricket team in an inconsequential Group D Vijay Hazare Trophy tie at the Bengal Cricket Academy Ground, Kalyani (near Kolkata), on Saturday.
Parvez Rasool led from the front with a fine half-century and a hat-trick and defeated Saurashtra by 23 runs in an exciting match.
After Jaydev Shah was trapped in front by Manik Gupta in the fifth ball of the 20th over, Rasool cleaned up Sheldon Jackson with the first ball of the 21st over before having Chirag Jani caught behind and Unadkat’s bails removed off the next two deliveries.
Coming on to bat, Snell Patel and Dharmendrasinh Jadeja had steadied the ship for Saurashtra after they were reduced to 9/2 at the end of the third over.
