Indian captain Virat Kohli who has made a habit of breaking ODI milestones in just every other game added one more record to his name in the 4th ODI against Australia at Bengaluru on Thursday.
Virat Kohli in his innings of 21 against Aussies broke South Africa's AB De Villiers' record of the becoming the fastest captain to get to 2000 runs. Virat took 36 innings to reach the milestone, surpassing South Africa’s AB de Villiers, who took 41 innings to achieve the same feat.
The Indian skipper has a staggering record in ODI cricket amassing 8728 runs in 198 ODIs at a stunning average of 55.24 with 30 centuries and 45 fifties. Australia put up 334 runs on the board after skipper Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat first.
Openers David Warner (124) and Aaron Finch (94) put together a record-breaking 231-run partnership for the first wicket as Australia, which helped the Aussies to register their first victory of the tour.
