Indian Test skipper Virat Kohli retained the second spot in the ICC Test Rankings released on Wednesday. Additionally, Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara also manage to hold his seventh spot in the latest ICC Rankings.
In the tally, Kohli holds the second spot with 912 points, which is 17 points less than the former Australia’s skipper Steve Smith who is at the top of the rankings with 929 points. Pujara had a total of 810 points.
In the bowling section, R Ashwin slipped down to fifth position with 803 points. He was earlier at fourth position in the previous rankings. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja still holds second spot in the all-rounder rankings.
South Africa opener Aiden Markram enter in the Top 10 of ICC Test Rankings for the first time.
Recently, the 23-year old batsman smashed 152 and 37 against Australia leading to a huge victory against the Kangaroos of 492 runs.
Among bowlers, South African pacers made huge gains in the ICC position after the Johannesburg Test.
Philander moved from ninth spot to third, Morner Morkel is now ranked sixth along with Australia’s Pat Cummins. However, Kagiso Rabada is still at the top of the tower with 902 points.
