New Delhi:

As we all know that Indian skipper Virat Kohli will not be a part of the remaining of ODI series and upcoming T20 series against New Zealand. On Tuesday, he took to Twitter and shared a picture along with wife Anushka Sharma and wrote, "Away we go’’. Virat has been given rest for the fourth and fifth ODI plus the following T20 series against New Zealand as Indian side has already clinched the series 3-0. In absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will be the captain for the Indian side for the two ODI matches and T20 series.

Virat Kohli-led Team India recently has won an ODI contest against Aussies by 2-1. The BCCI earlier this month had revealed that due to his heavy workload in the last few months, the team management and senior selection committee decided to give the Indian skipper adequate rest ahead of the home series against Australia.

BCCI said in the statement, "India captain Virat Kohli will be rested for the fourth and fifth ODI against New Zealand and the subsequent T20I series. Considering his workload in the last few months, the team management and Senior selection committee is of the view that it would be ideal for him to get adequate rest ahead of the home series against Australia. There will be no replacement for Mr. Kohli in the squad for the New Zealand series. Rohit Sharma will captain the side in the final two ODIs and T20I series’’.
