In the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (2019), the teams are working regressively with the full fortitude to stay at the top of the points table and more importantly, the league is helping Tamil Nadu to produce some extraordinary talent which eventually has even led the players to make their way to the cash rich Indian Premier League (IPL). This time around, the player who has been in the limelight is G Periyaswamy – a name which has been doing all talking more due to his action which is like Lasith Malinga.

The legendary Sri Lankan cricketer who retired from ODI cricket is known for his slingy action and has been successfully foxing the batsmen for the last 15 years. His toe crushers have been near impossible to play and couple it with his slower loopy deliveries and Malinga becomes unplayable at the death.

G Periyaswamy looks a sensational talent as he clocks decent speed with the slingy action and has been troubling the batsmen this season. Moreover, he lacks vision in one eye but that hasn’t stopped him from playing cricket - which adds cherry to his game. The Super Gillies included him in the playing XI from the first game and since then, the youngster has lived up to the expectations. However, it will be important for the youngster to capitalize on the opportunity and continue good run.

In the tournament so far he has scalped five wickets and twice in three matches, has conceded less than six runs an over in his spell. He returned with the figures of 2/9 in his three overs against the Karaikudi Kaalai and is looking a bright prospect for the team going forward in the season.
